Have you ever wanted to try film photography but weren't sure where to begin?
This one-on-one workshop is a simple introduction to 35mm black-and-white film. My goal is to give you a process you can take home so you can continue experimenting long after our day together.
We'll spend the day photographing a single roll of film, developing it by hand, scanning the negatives, and making a few simple edits. By the end of the day, you'll understand the entire process and have the confidence to continue on your own.
We'll begin by talking about your camera, or you can borrow one of mine. I'll explain exposure, answer your questions, and we'll head out to photograph one roll of 35mm black-and-white film.
After we're finished shooting, we'll return to the studio and develop your film using a simple DF96 monobath process. While the negatives dry, we'll take a break for lunch, which is included.
Once the film is dry, we'll scan your negatives, make a few edits, and review your photographs together. I'll also send you home with a list of everything you'll need if you'd like to continue developing film at home.
Length: Approximately 7 hours
Location: Englewood, Florida
No previous experience is necessary.
