Against The Grain

My Philosophy

I’m not here for the wedding industry. I don’t believe your wedding should be turned into vendor marketing or staged content. It’s private — it belongs to you. If privacy is a concern, I’ll sign an NDA without hesitation.

I only take on 8–12 weddings a year with people who connect with this. I shoot film, I work documentary-style, and I don’t direct or stage much — I prefer to show up and let things unfold. The real beauty is always in what happens naturally.

What sets me apart is how I approach the wedding itself. I’ll often photograph more than just the ceremony and reception — the dress fitting, a backyard BBQ, the quiet in-betweens that give the day its shape. And when it’s all said and done, the photographs don’t just sit in a gallery link. They become a custom wedding zine, something tangible you can hold in your hands.
